OCH Regional Medical Center will host a United Blood Services Blood Drive Monday, April 9. United Blood Service has announced an urgent need for all negative blood types: O-, B- and A-.
“Due to blood drive cancellations and people staying indoors, our community blood supply has taken a significant dip,” explains United Blood Services Center Director JW Chapman. “In order to meet the needs of area patients, we are asking the community to take time to help out by donating blood to replenish the blood supply. More than 72 hospitals in Mississippi/Alabama rely on United Blood Services and the generosity of blood donors to meet the lifesaving transfusion needs of area patients.”
The UBS Bloodmobile will be on the OCH campus from 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Donors receive a free cholesterol test and Donor Reward points when scheduling an appointment online and donating blood. A photo ID is required to donate. For more information or to sign up to donate blood, contact OCH Public Relations Coordinator, Mary Kathryn Kight at 662-615-3067.
