> OCH’s “Stork Support” Class Helps Prepare Expectant Parents
> Now is the time for expectant mothers to sign up for OCH Regional Medical Center’s Stork Support classes in January. This is a childbirth class that focuses on fetal development, prenatal care, relaxation techniques, labor and delivery, infant CPR, infant care, postpartum care and many other aspects of childbirth.
> The class will meet Mondays, January 6, 13, 20 and 27. The January 6 class will meet in the first floor classroom with all other classes taking place in the OCH Educational Facility. A certified childbirth educator leads the class, with special visits from a registered dietician, exercise specialist and lactation consultant.

> OCH Regional Medical Center to Host ‘Breast Is Best’ Class
> OCH Regional Medical Center will host a ‘Breast Is Best’ class for expectant mothers who plan to or are considering breastfeeding.
> Class dates are Thursday January 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 6 – 8 p.m. The January 9 class will meet in the first floor classroom with all other classes taking place in the OCH Educational Facility. All classes are instructed by a board certified lactation consultant and cover various topics such as breastfeeding positions, nutritional advantages, overcoming nursing challenges and breastfeeding while working.
> The class fee is 60 dollars. Mothers enrolled in the Stork Support class receive a 10 dollar discount. Call Paula Hamilton, perinatal nurse manager, to register or for questions, at (662) 615-2840.

> OCH Diabetes Support Group to Focus on a New You in the New Year
> Support goes a long way! Learn more about how diabetes affects you or your loved ones and how you can effectively manage diabetes on an ongoing basis. If you or someone you love is living with diabetes, join us for our upcoming meeting on Tuesday, January 14 at 5:30 p.m. in the OCH Educational Facility.

> OCH Group Provides Valuable Support and Education for Mothers
> OCH Regional Medical Center invites new and expectant mothers to join the Mother-to-Mother Support Group at OCH Tuesday, January 14 from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. in the first floor classroom.
> This support group is free and is designed to encourage and educate expectant and new mothers as they care for the new addition to their family. Mothers will have the chance to speak with professionals on several topics which include working while breastfeeding, family nutrition, food and toy safety, finding the best day-care for your child, car seat safety and much more.

> OCH Regional Medical Center to Host CPR Class

> OCH Regional Medical Center will host a CPR classes each month during 2014, with the first class scheduled for Monday, January 6 at 5:30 p.m.
> The two-hour class is led by a certified CPR instructor and will take place in the OCH Community Room located across from the gift shop. OCH is an authorized training center for the American Heart Association, with the program covering basic life support for healthcare providers; however, non-healthcare persons are also welcome to attend.
