ECCC, Town of Decatur to Dedicate Paving, Sidewalk, Lighting Projects

> Officials from East Central Community College and the Town of Decatur will participate in a joint ribbon-cutting ceremony May 12 to officially dedicate the completion of paving, sidewalk, and lighting projects.

> The ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on the front lawn of the college’s Richard C. Ethridge Hall. The public is invited.
>
> The projects were made possible by Surface Transportation Program and Transportation Alternatives Program grant funding provided through the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
> ECCC President Dr. Billy Stewart said, “We are grateful to our state legislative delegation, Central Transportation Commissioner Dick Hall and the many others who provided assistance in securing these grant funds. The improvements to our campus and town are not only aesthetically pleasing, but most importantly, this area is now much safer for our students and the community.”
> Participating in the program will be Dr. Stewart; Rep. Randy Rushing, House District 78; Mayor Pat O’Neill, Town of Decatur; Dr. Jimmy Hollingsworth, ECCC Board of Trustees chair; Commissioner Hall; Alderman Mark Buntyn, Town of Decatur; and Jerry Smith, ECCC Board of Trustees vice chair.
