Main Street Macon Presents Family Research 101

Learn how to research your family history with a special focus on Noxubee County presented by Sharon Leslie Morgan.
Morgan is a long-time, long-distance member of the Noxubee County Historical Society. She will talk about her lifelong dedication to genealogical research with a focus on her family roots in Noxubee County. Her presentation includes an illustrated account of her personal journey along with insights on how genealogy can empower our future by healing the wounds of the past.
The presentation will teach the basics of how to do family research plus a Q&A for those who are facing research challenges.
Morgan has been researching her family roots in Noxubee for many years and is the founder of OurBlackAncestry, a website and social networking community. She is also the co-author of Gather at the Table: The Healing Journey of a Daughter of Slavery and a Son of the Slave Trade (Beacon Press, 2012).
The presentation will take place on August 20th from 6 till 7:30 p.m. at the Macon Welcome Center, 2904 Jefferson St. Macon, Mississippi.
