Six Mississippi Startup Companies Accepted as Suppliers for Walmart.com

> The Delta Regional Authority is excited that six Mississippi startup companies from the Delta region were accepted as product suppliers for Walmart.com. > Innovate Mississippi announced that six Mississippi startup companies were accepted as product suppliers for Walmart.com at the 2016 U.S. Manufacturing Supplier Summit hosted by Walmart June 28 in Bentonville, Ark.

> The summit’s theme, “Investing in American Jobs,” exemplifies Walmart’s commitment to continue accelerating the U.S. manufacturing industry by purchasing an additional $250 billion in U.S. products by 2023. The event featured an Open Call pitch opportunity for new U.S.-made products with buyers from Walmart, Walmart.com and Sam’s Club on hand to meet individually with the companies.

> “What an exciting day at Walmart’s U.S. Manufacturing Supplier Summit to be here with the six Mississippi companies when it was announced they were all approved as Walmart.comsuppliers,” said attendee Tony Jeff, president and CEO of Innovate Mississippi. “The potential for these Mississippi startups is incredible as Walmart.com draws more than 140 million customers to its website each week.”

> The six Mississippi startup companies are: Beck’s Confections of Ridgeland; Billy’s Original Foods of Vicksburg; DeerScaping of Winona; R2PG of Port Gibson; TheMaxBit of Clinton; and United Plastic Molders of Jackson.
